An unexpected encounter with stuck souls at Waverly Hills Sanatorium in Louisville, KY led me into spirit releasement work during my trip there July 9 and 10. The encounter took place in the morgue on the first floor.
The two nights at Waverly, one of the top haunted places in America, were arranged by the Northern Chapter of Colorado Paranormal Research and Investigations, directed by Randy Schneider. There were only about a dozen of us, including Patrick Burns of “Haunted Evidence,” and we had the entire place to ourselves.
I spent most of the two nights working with Randy and Robbin Daidone, and also spent time with Patrick. We were able to have completely quiet times for EVP, a rarity when large groups are moving through the building. Robbin, a nurse, attempted to make contact with the ghosts of doctors and nurses who have been reported there.
Shadow People activity was greatest on the 4th floor and also the 3rd, as I had experienced in my other two visits to Waverly. Randy brought his Frank’s Box, but unfortunately it could not pick up enough low band signals to create a noise matrix for effective communication.
On the second night, Randy, Robbin and I decided to spend time in the morgue. The room contains a three-tiered body storage tower original to the time when Waverly was a tuberculosis sanatorium in the early 20th century, and an autopsy table not original to the facility, but to the era.
We had heard that if a person laid on one of the corpse trays and was pushed into the tower, one could experience voices and the sounds of scratching. It sounded like haunting imprints, and we decided to try it out. All three of us took turns lying inside the corpse racks.
The first feeling I had was one of claustrophobia, quite understandable. Then I quickly tuned in to a female spirit. This was no imprint, but someone who was stuck at Waverly. She was young, about 23, and had died of tuberculosis. She communicated that she had been engaged, and that her fiance’s family had abandoned her in her illness. Her fiancé had not been strong for her. She was very sad, and did not know where to go. I had the feeling that she died more of a broken heart than of illness. I asked yes-no questions which were validated by K2 meter. It took some effort, but I was able to get her to see a path of light, and to let go of me and to follow it. Robbin, who is sensitive too, saw her father reaching out for her on the Other Side.
As soon as she was gone, a line of other souls formed, starting with an older man dressed in a suit. He was asking, “Where do I go?” This unexpected releasement activity took place at the end of the night, and after two long nights I felt I did not have sufficient energy to deal with more. I exited the body tray, and the three of us formed a prayer circle and asked for spiritual help for those souls still present.
In August, I will return to Waverly as part of a Darkness/TAPS event (Aug. 19-22), and hope to do some additional releasement work. We’ll have two nights there. Waverly is full of activity, which includes imprints, thoughtforms, Shadow People and stuck souls. For information, visit www.paranormaltrips.com or www.darknessevents.com
