MAKE YOUR OWN MAGIC

A man wrote to me recently wanting to know if he should buy “lucky” objects on the internet which have an advertised purpose of enhancing a person’s luck. It is possible to imbue energy into an object for a specific purpose. But why buy something that may or may not work for you when you can make your own lucky objects?

The simplest way to make a lucky charm or object is to hold it and put your intention into it on a daily basis. Hold it in the palm of one hand and cup the other hand over it. Send your thoughts into the object: “This is my lucky (object) and will magnify the forces of good, luck, and protection in my direction.” Carry the object with you and whenever you think about it, imagine it working like a magnet to bring in good luck. The object becomes “charged.” Do the charging daily for a month, and periodically after that.

Objects that you make by hand, or alter in some way by hand such as coloring, carving symbols and initials, adding decorations, and so on, carry an even stronger “charge.”

If this sound simplistic to you, how do you think those lucky objects sold on the internet are made? If they are charged at all – and some are likely not to be charged – it is through similar ways, by invoking energy into the object.

The effectiveness of the charge depends on the individual. Some persons have a natural “magical” ability and can focus their intention quite effectively. If, in the back of your mind, you have doubts or don’t really believe in what you are doing, you will impart those doubts into the object.

There actually is some scientific basis to this: a psychokinetic effect of mind influencing matter, called “psychoenergetics” by some. Physicist William Tiller, who has been studying consciousness and intentionality for years, has demonstrated that devices can be programmed with intention via meditation, and, like batteries, have an effect upon material things. Tiller — known as ADr. Bleep@ for his appearance in the hit film What the Bleep Do We Know? – became interested in psychoenergetics in the 1960s.

His research has involved experienced meditators who program a specific intention into an “intentional imprinted electrical device,” a metal box charged with an electrical current. For example, the meditators might “send” the intention into the box that the temperature of water in a flask should be raised one degree. After programming the device, the box is set beside a flask of water — and the temperature goes up. It is as though the intention emanates from the box to affect the physical environment.

In his book Some Science Adventures with Real Magic (2005), Tiller states that human consciousness, in the form of specific intentions, can have a “robust effect” on physical things.

What’s more, the device itself does not seem to be important. You don’t have to use a metal box charged with a current. Tiller says that intention can be programmed into any object. The key, he says, is consciousness.

The same principal applies to the Law of Attraction. A lucky object “programmed” for luck helps to organize the Law of Attraction in our direction. However, you still have to work for it yourself. Lucky people seize the opportunities presented to them.

Transition and transformation are the hallmarks of March, the doorway to spring. The new season brings new growth. How we spend our resources of time, energy, attention and money right now will determine the results that will unfold throughout the year.

I have received many favorable comments about the Tarot images I have used in the past few monthly messages, and so I have selected another one for March. It is the Six of Vessels from The Alchemical Tarot, created by artist Robert Michael Place, with whom I co-authored a book and deck set for the cards. Vessels (Cups) is the suit of emotions and intuition. In this image, a woman pours water into several vessels, one of which shows new growth.

Six is the number of harmony, love and nurturing. The message of the card, and the message for March, is to make your choices for where you want to pour your resources for the nurturing and flowering of your goals. If there are too many vessels, you may exhaust your resources and some – or perhaps none – of your goals will do well. Focus your intention and attention. If you have done your spiritual homework during the hibernating and meditative time of winter, you will have a clear vision for putting creative forces in motion. Choose your vessels wisely, and tend to them properly. Whatever you pursue, invest your efforts with love.
