Postcards: A Picture-Perfect Way to Develop Intuition and Psychic Skills

Card decks with images and symbols on them are a great way to stimulate your intuition and psychic skills. They evoke ideas, feelings and inspired thoughts that help to clarify your focus. As intuitive tools, card decks do not impose anything on you, but help you to see situations from a better or different perspective.

There are numerous “oracle” decks on the market today, from the Tarot to theme sets featuring angels, fairies, animals, runes and other images. It is fun to draw one a day for inspiration and a daily message. Most of these decks come with guidebooks that help explain the meanings of the cards.

You can make your own custom deck of cards without creating them from scratch. Whenever you visit a museum or gallery, browse through their postcards and select ones that appeal to you. Many of the items on display in museums and galleries are similar to symbols found in oracle decks: objects, tools, jewelry, coins, masks, animals, nature scenes, daily life scenes, religious scenes and so on.

Over time, you can collect quite a few cards from places you’ve visited, and which have personal significance to you. When drawn, they will easily elicit associations and emotions. Ask yourself what the image represents in a symbolic way, and how it relates to your life and your day. Since you won’t have a guidebook to tell you about the cards, you will have to rely strictly on your intuition for seeing both the obvious and subtle meanings of the cards.

Draw postcards from your pack face down. Since most postcards have identifying information on the backs, you can either close your eyes when you shuffle and select, or cover the backs with colored paper. For best results, keep all cards a uniform size.

I’d like to thank friend and author Carol Adrienne for the inspiration for postcard intuition. Carol is the author of The Purpose of Your Life and other books, and co-authored with James Redfield the experiential guides to The Celestine Prophecy and The Tenth Insight. She wrote the foreword to my book,Breakthrough Intuition: How To Achieve A Life of Abundance by Listening to the Voice Within. I love postcard intuition — it is a refreshing addition to other intuition-prompting techniques. What’s more, the cards also remind me of pleasant journeys and reconnect me to my experiences in different ways.

Keep in mind that a postcard deck must be strictly for personal use. The images are copyrighted.
